Year 9 Foundation Sports Scholarship Application Form

The College Board offers Middle School scholarships annually.

Talented athletes currently in Year 8 are invited to apply for a sporting scholarship at St Andrew’s College. Sports scholarships and a sports award are available.

Foundation Sports Scholarships

  • Up to 50% reduction in tuition fees over five years.
  • Additional needs-based financial support can be applied for. This should be provided separately if you are offered the scholarship.
  • Available for rugby, netball, basketball, hockey, football, cricket and tennis.

Sports Awards

  • Available for rugby, netball, basketball, hockey, football, cricket and tennis.
  • Value of $2000 as a one-off reduction against 2026 tuition fees.

Please note:

  • It is not possible for an applicant to be awarded both the sports scholarship and a sports award.
  • In order to apply for a St Andrew’s College Middle School Scholarship, you must complete the Application for Admission Form by clicking here , if you have not already done so.
  • Students in Year 8 at St Andrew's College do not need to complete the Application for Admission Form.
  • Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
  • A Sports Trial Day will be held for applicants on Monday 28 April 2025; the time will be communicated in writing closer to the date.

2026 Foundation Sports Scholarship Applications close on Friday 4 April 2025.

Interview

All shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview and a Sports Trial Day. The trial day will be on Monday 28 April 2025. The date and time of the interview will be advised by the Registrar. Please complete the Sports Trial Day registration form by clicking here.

Review of Scholarships (Foundation Sports Scholarship only)

Parents are advised that all scholarships are subject to yearly review, in order to ensure that a student’s performance, both in co-curricular and academic progress, is in line with the conditions of the award.
