End of Term 1

I acknowledge the staff for the energy and expertise they have given to the children’s learning and development during this term. They are hard-working and consistently deliver quality learning experiences to the children.

It has been an action-packed 10 weeks. I think it is fair to say everyone is tired, although it is a good tiredness, one of satisfaction that comes from effort and focus.

Tomorrow, we have our end of Term 1 Assembly where children will be acknowledged for areas of achievement but also areas of leadership and responsibility. Parents are welcome to attend (11.15am in the Centennial Chapel).

Term 1 concludes tomorrow at 12.35pm. Please note there will be no After-school Care available.

I wish everyone the very best for the school holidays and of course for Easter and this special time with your family.

Please note, we have a College-wide Staff Professional Development Day on Monday 1 May. The children will start Term 2 on Tuesday 2 May at the normal time.

The children’s Term 1 Goal Setting Reports will be posted to the Community Portal tomorrow.

During the holiday break, the College’s ANZAC Day Chapel Service will held in the Centennial Chapel on Tuesday 25 April, starting at 10.00am.

Some reminders:

  • all staff, children, parents and contractors must use the Normans Road crossing when it is operating in the morning and afternoon. It is also a good idea to still use the crossing when it isn’t officially operating as drivers generally stop;
  • children are not permitted to bring lollies or gum to school, or any food to share including birthday cakes or cupcakes. Also, instant noodles requiring boiling water are not permitted at school due to the burn danger they present.

Ballet Academy Performance Awards

Congratulations to the 20 dancers who took part in the Ballet Academy Performance Awards last Sunday – learning, mastering and performing a new dance before an external examiner (and large audience! ) in just four weeks. The examiner was very pleased with the quality and musicality of the dancers on the stage, and the gorgeous costumes!
